My Process Is Collaborative.
Owners of fine homes and estates commission
a large portion of the artworks I create. I take the time to get
to know my clients - their passions and desires, their goals and visions,
their ideals and principles, their loves and fears. In creating
works
for them, I allow the feelings of living their vision, of being
true to what is most important to them, of basking in the heart of
the
truest, richest life they can imagine. I welcome what makes them
feel most alive into myself and let that pour through me as I create
their
artworks. These creations go far beyond their positive effect on
the esthetics of the home. My clients tell me that the artwork that
I
create for them changes their very experience of life for the better.
It
is the consensus of those I have worked for - there is only one
way to be in congruence with the beauty, magnificence and grandness
they want their lives to be -- the artworks they surround themselves
with must reflect those qualities.
Displaying works of art they
speak to their hearts desire conveys a message. It speaks of integrity,
unwillingness to compromise,
and a commitment to excellence.
It is my experience that artwork
of this nature transcends mere decoration. It has a strategic function,
welcoming, exciting
and remaining in
memories. Great artwork resembles great service in many ways.
It is a point of interest; it can relax or inspire excitement.
Similarly,
it can remain in the background gently creating a tone or
a mood. It is very noticeable when attention is paid to it and
utterly
enhancing when “just” a part of the environment.
To accomplish these goals, the art in your homes and offices
should provide the following:
- They should uplift and inspire
guests, make them feel good about arriving and being there.
- They
should have continuity about them to give people a sense of congruence
and connectedness. The pieces need
to be a family
of harmoniously
related works.
- The artwork should enhance and compliment
the design of the structure in which they abide.
- They should command
attention and be something that people talk about, and derive
great pleasure
from.
- They should flow— gently, yet clearly,
guiding people in the direction they want to go.
I mean
this in both the physical sense
as well as the metaphysical sense.
Most of what I am working on these days are large
canvases with textures that lift from the
surface as a result of
dozens upon
dozens of layers
of sensual color washes in combination with
powerful, yet sensitive, brush strokes. The result allows
the full majesty,
dimension,
and dramatic impact necessary to reach out
to everyone who views them.
I tend to use a complimentary balance of
powerful and gentle flowing brushstrokes to create an
overall mood that moves
through people
as though they were basking in the most
magical of realms.
I love to rise to the occasion, meet this
challenges my gifts live to meet. I want
to create artworks
that not only
evoke
in people
the feelings of importance, belonging and
being at home, but at the same
time, artworks that look and feel like they
are at home in the environment in which
they are living.
I want
to contribute to
what I see as
an opportunity for perfect union and communion
of art and it’s
surroundings. With the installation of the
artworks describe here we will have created
synergy through extraordinary
aesthetic experience. |
